Sergeant Joseph Lister of the Lancashire Fusiliers, was awarded the Victoria Cross for conspicuous gallantry near Ypres, Belgium, First World War, 9 October 1917. The picture shows him single-handedly clearing enemy positions at Olga House on Passchendael Ridge.
