Lieutenant Henry Lysons and Private John Fowler of the 90th Light Infantry, were awarded the Victoria Cross for valour at Hlobane Mountain, Zulu War, 28 March 1879. They are seen storming a Zulu stronghold, an action described by their Commanding officer as ‘The bravest deed I ever saw performed in my life.'
